akiyaDAO’s core mission is to create containers for creative flourishing, so we took the opportunity to meet with founders of art residencies for insight into their process

3 Beneath the legendary mt fuji, saruya art residency’s founder Tsuyoshi is working to revitalize ancient textile traditions, renovating akiya into makerspaces, hostels and creative cafes.

He wanders the town in search of akiya, collaborating with locals to promote restoration

4 best part of Japan? THE FOOD from $8 michelin * ramen to sushi feasts, wild boar to bear stew, japanese cuisine simply cannot miss. one shop even had us grinding our own sesame paste with custom pestle & mortars to create an exquisite dipping sauce for our crispy katsu
