2 weeks in, and we are slowly going from the MVP version of the house, to a cozier version that feels more embodied. it’s strange how much furniture and materials can instantly change the mood, working dynamic, and how we feel in a space.

our desk + chair arrived today, super delighted about that; it’s been too long it seems like since i’ve sat in a proper chair, and my legs were really appreciative — this is the first real chair that we have in the house (we’ve been making due with floor cushions and smaller seats)

with this new desk, chris also busted out his music and i was able to witness him create some tunes live, which was really cool.

also i finished my totoro crochet, and made a video on the process. check out this adorable plushie, that feels so representative of dreams of rural japan — very fitting for this project

i feel more cleansed from fasting since yesterday — we broke our meal in the morning with some aoki bentos for brunch. i always feel like there’s more fractal taste to food after long periods of not eating. dinner later tonight was truffle pasta + mushroom, sesame salad + shiso, and braised shishito peppers; i’m starting to really enjoy cooking at home, and knowing exactly what goes into making a meal, and get a better sense for what my body is craving in these exact moments.

finally, we had a video game night playing stardew valley. it’s unreal being here still; i remember the times when i used to play stardew valley at home in the states, and would dream of being on a farm or living an alternative life closer to nature, and it now feels “here”.
