some notes starting in the chat here: https://discord.com/channels/1172408329675485304/1172440189772251157/1253908334407454751
- we discussed the current progress in the last 3 months:

- and details about next steps:
- MOSTLY, we need to create space specs for how many people will be living in the space + what it primarily will be used for
- getting to a basic livability state by early / mid october when we want to host our burning man camp (estimated ~7 to 10 people camping with us currently based on our interest form + people i've talked to)
FIRST PASS AT INITIAL SPECS
- we'd like to have accommodation for 4 to 6 people. in all, we should aim for 3 dedicated rooms for accommodation, and if extra capacity is necessary in the house, this can be repurposed from the other general rooms
- we are working on purchasing akiya in our community nearby, which can be used to house excess capacity. so we would like to prioiritize the makerspace part first
- main purpose of this akiya will act as a community living room + makerspace / workshop area.
GENERAL VIBE BY AREA
1st floor: semi public, makerspace (3d printer, other indoor equipment), multipurpose room, communal kitchen + laundry, gallery space. wooden floors or non tatami floors for easy maintenance. CNC, woodworking tools can be part of woodworking shop to be outside.
2nd floor: private and accomodation areas. guest rooms, pillows + cozy living room for a chill out space
OPEN QUESTIONS / TO DO
- anything else we need to spec out for the space that would be important for @masahiko_tbw to know? @michellehuang42 will then firm up space utility + specs
- @masahiko_tbw to confirm that he can come onsite for 7/22 to 7/27
- decision making / group consensus for use of renovation funds
- estimated cost for renovation: will need to determine what type of contractors based on things like budget/how much you'd DIY
- what tools we currently have vs what tools we need
- get electricity up and running. @masahiko_tbw to call electrical company to get someone to check this out?
- creating a list for what else is necessary for livability by early / mid october for burning man
