You’ll get a bill in the mail that looks something like this (content blurred for privacy)
Scan the QR code at the bottom right of the eL Tax brocure to the right, or head to https://www.payment.eltax.lta.go.jp/
Once you arrive at the website, you’ll see an option (left side) to pay with the payment site. Click on that one. Alternatively, if you have payment apps, you can click on the right side.

This guide will focus on paying with the website.

The next step needs you to enter the appropriate data so the website knows which bill you’re trying to pay. The default is to scan the QR code at the bottom right of your bill.
If you’d rather input the number instead (or you can’t get your camera to connect correctly), touch the button at the top on the right side to input the numbers instead. You’ll see a guide on which numbers to input (they’re highlighted in orange in the sample above). You can input multiple items after your first one by tapping the white button in the dialog.
Once you’re done, hit the blue button to continue. You’ll have to input your email address because they’ll send you a confirmation code. Once you submit the form for email address, check your email address and submit the verification code to the confirmation page.
Next page lets you select the payment type. I just selected Credit Card because it is easy for me. Do note that there is a small system usage fee for using a credit card (very tiny). Accept the two confirmation checkboxes down the page, and click on the blue button at the bottom.
Then you enter your credit card details. Submit the form and it will bring you to a confirmation page.
Submit the form again to pay.
And that’s it, you’ve paid your property taxes!
